This is where we begin. Your project is an empty wall space.
For our purposes this wood will be our wall. We are going to install a 1" thick acoustical panel.
The process would be identical for a 2" panel as well as a tack board or tuned panel.
Long Rectangluar Area for Side Shot
Our first step is to apply a small strip of fabrics and the track. This piece of fabric is used to conceal the edge of the track not covered by the face fabric. The track is mitered like a picture frame.

Next we trim and tuck the fabric and install our acoustical absorber, or core, in this case it is a 1" thick piece of 6#pcf fiberglass with a white face. Although it could be a tackable surface, pegboard over fiberglass for tuned acoustics or anyother material including nothing, if we were covering a speaker, diffuser or cracked wall.
Next we finish with our face fabric. First we partially tuck the fabric around the entire panel and then trim and tuck the actual fabric edge. Whisper Walls is compatible with 95% of fabrics. We here at Division Nine use alot of Guilford 701 because of its durability, stain resistance and overall quality.
Basically any location where an acoustical panel could be installed, Whisper Walls can be utilized. In addition, Whisper Walls can be used in many applications where standard acoustical panels cannot.
For Example:
Barrel Vaults
Curved Walls
Speaker Enclosures
Hide virtually anything in a wall cavity
Panels larger than 4'x 10' (only limited by fabric)
We have panels in the field larger than 5'x 100'
With Whisper Span panels of 16'x 100' are possible
